Negotiating for Tenant Attorneys: How To Do Right for San Francisco Tenants

  • Monday, June 25, 5:30pm – 7:00pm
  • Presented by Deepa Varma, Esq. – San Francisco Tenants Union
  • Bar Association of San Francisco – 301 Battery Street, 3rd Floor, Board Room, San Francisco, CA 94111
  • 1.5 General CLE Credits
  • Overview: Housing court almost always ends in a negotiated settlement. But what is a good settlement for tenants, and how can you best read your opponent, communicate your needs, and get to the best possible result? Learn basics of negotiation tactics, break down the style of your opponent, and learn what to fight for in your stipulations, to ensure that your tenant gets the most out of the deal.
    • Deepa Varma helped found the litigation project at the EDC and represented tenants in New York and San Francisco for 8 years, before becoming the Executive Director of the San Francisco Tenants Union.

This is a free training open to all attorneys, paralegals, law students, and those interested in the legal field. We hope to see you there!
