IOLTA and the Client Trust Account Protection Program

Lawyers have statutory and ethical obligations to safeguard funds they hold in trust for their clients or other persons. In 2023, the State Bar of California’s new Client Trust Account Protection Program (CTAPP) went into effect, establishing new rules to protect client trust accounts from misconduct. This training will cover the new CTAPP requirements as well as broader requirements around client funds that must be pooled into Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts (IOLTA) accounts.
