Announcing our new Executive Director

ALRP is pleased to share that we have named Matt Foreman, a nationally recognized LGBTQ leader, to succeed Bill Hirsh as the organization’s Executive Director.

Matt brings a wealth of experience to ALRP. He has held leadership positions in the LGBTQ community for more than 30 years, including serving as the Executive Director of the NYC Gay & Lesbian Anti-Violence Project, the Empire State Pride Agenda, and the National LGBTQ Task Force. For the last 15 years, he has led the LGBT Equality Program at the Evelyn & Walter Haas, Jr. Fund, one of the largest philanthropic funders of LGBT civil rights across the nation.

Matt starts with ALRP on October 16, and we look forward to introducing him to the community at our Annual Reception on October 19, where we will celebrate ALRP’s 40th Anniversary and Bill’s transition after 24 years of leadership.

You can read the full press release here and a feature on ALRP and the leadership transition in the San Francisco Chronicle. Tickets to the Annual Reception on October 19 can be purchased here.

We are excited to embark on this new chapter as we continue to address the legal needs of people living with HIV/AIDS in the San Francisco Bay Area, and we look forward to sharing more with you soon!
