Laura Thomas, MPH, MPP – Clint Hockenberry Award
From her days as an AIDS activist with ACT UP in San Francisco through her current work as the Senior Director of HIV & Harm Reduction Policy at the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, Laura has been a leader in the HIV/AIDS fight. In bestowing the Clint Hockenberry Leadership award to Laura Thomas, ALRP honors the many lives who have been saved as a result of the sound public policy advanced by this true San Francisco treasure. |

Steven Chizen, Esq. – ALRP Attorney of the Year
A relatively new ALRP Panel Attorney, Steven Chizen has demonstrated his commitment to ALRP’s mission by accepting over 20 cases in the just the last year. Steven has represented clients in need of legal counsel in employment, torts, and restraining orders. When people living with HIV face the need for sage legal advice, they can rely on experienced attorneys like Steven. In recognition of his extraordinary service to ALRP clients, ALRP is bestowing its Attorney of the Year award to Steven Chizen. |

A special celebration – Bill Hirsh, Esq.
For 24 years, Bill Hirsh has helped lead the AIDS Legal Referral Panel. A zealous advocate for social justice, Bill has fought to secure and strengthen the safety net of services for people living with HIV by expanding access to housing, mental health services and essential health care services. Bill is equally known for being a kind and thoughtful leader who has trained generations of legal services attorneys. |
