Our Annual Reception yesterday was a powerful evening of celebration, resilience, and community. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and sponsors, we raised nearly $300,000 to support ALRP’s free legal services for people living with HIV/AIDS. We are deeply grateful to everyone whose commitment helped make this year’s event a success.
Guests in the room raised nearly $30,000 through our special appeal, but we’re not done yet! At the event yesterday, we debuted a video with words from some clients we’ve worked with this year, and we’re excited to share this video with you now.

Our Honorees
This year, we were also honored to recognize two extraordinary leaders whose courage, advocacy, and service have made a lasting impact:
Olympic champion, author, and HIV/AIDS advocate Greg Louganis received the Clint Hockenberry Award for his decades of visibility, advocacy, and unwavering commitment to people living with HIV. Through his openness, leadership, and compassion, Greg has helped break down stigma and inspire generations.
Kathleen R. Hartnett received the Bill Hirsh Award in recognition of her decades-long commitment to advancing justice, equality, and civil rights. Through her distinguished career in public service and private practice, Kathleen has combined exceptional legal advocacy with the courage, tenacity, and kindness that define this award.
At a time when our communities continue to face profound challenges, our honorees’ example reminds us of the power of courage, compassion, and persistence. Their leadership inspires us to keep building a future rooted in equity, dignity, and hope.
Every day, ALRP helps people facing life-altering legal crises. From preventing homelessness and protecting vital benefits to defending against discrimination and deportation, our clients rely on legal advocacy when the stakes couldn’t be higher.
