ALRP’s From the Heart 34th Annual Reception & Auction raised more than $180,000 to support ALRP’s free and low cost legal services and programs for people living with HIV/AIDS. The Annual Reception, ALRP’s biggest fundraising event of the year, was held on Wednesday, October 18th in the Julia Morgan Ballroom at the Merchants Exchange in San Francisco. The event was attended by over 400 guests.

During the evening, ALRP recognized its 34 years of achievement and honored those who have made a lasting difference in the lives of people with HIV/AIDS. San Francisco Supervisor Jeff Sheehy presented theALRP 2017 Clint Hockenberry Leadership Award to John W. Rosenzweig, Esq., the ALRP 2017 Attorney of the Year Award to Sharon M. Dulberg, Esq., and the ALRP 2017 Firm of the Year Award to Jones Day.

“ALRP is so proud to honor the tremendous contributions of long-time volunteer Panel Attorney, John W. Rosenzweig, Esq., with our ALRP 2017 Clint Hockenberry Leadership Award in recognition of work on behalf of people living with HIV/AIDS,” stated Bill Hirsh, ALRP’s Executive Director.

The Annual Reception’s title, “From the Heart,” is a tribute to the dedication of ALRP Board members, staff, and volunteer Panel Attorneys who contribute their time and energy on behalf of people living with HIV/AIDS. The reception featured gourmet catered hors d’oeuvres, excellent wines donated by Viszlay Vineyardsand a silent & live auction conducted by Bizzarros Gala and Event Auctions.

ALRP received significant sponsorships from leading law firms and organizations including Gilead Sciences, Inc., Jones Day, the Bob Ross Foundation, Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP, the Morrison & Foerster Foundation, Perkins Coie LLP, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, Shartsis Friese LLP, Union Bank Foundation, and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati Foundation. Additional funds were raised through ALRP’s live and silent auction and through Reception ticket sales.
