We couldn't have done it without you.

We are so grateful for the 370+ supporters who joined us last Thursday, October 23, to celebrate ALRP’s 42nd Annual Reception. We hope you enjoyed the moving remarks from our honorees and special guests as well as the food, drink, and company.

With your generosity, and the generosity of our event sponsors, we raised over $300,000—an all-time record—to support ALRP’s vital services for people living with HIV/AIDS. Thank you!

Legal Lifeline: ALRP Special Appeal

Our clients often come to us during the toughest moments of their lives. They are facing homelessness or deportation, fighting to keep precious benefits, or encountering daily discrimination on the job. Our live appeal raised over $30,000 to support ALRP’s services for clients in crisis. Thank you so much to everyone who helped us get this far!

And if you weren’t able to attend on Thursday, it’s not too late to help us reach our stretch goal. Hear directly from our clients about why your support matters:

Our 42nd Annual Reception was a powerful night of celebration and resilience. Varla Jean Merman dazzled the crowd as our Special Guest Host. And we were so proud to celebrate our honorees and hear their powerful remarks:

Attorney David Tsai received the Clint Hockenberry Award for his decades of selfless leadership—advocating for HIV+ immigrants seeking asylum, volunteering with HIV service organizations, and advancing justice and equity in the Asian American and LGBTQ legal communities.

And George Takei—actor, author, and civil rights icon—received the Bill Hirsh Award for his courage in speaking out about the early days of HIV/AIDS, his ongoing philanthropy, and his decades of using his platform to fight prejudice and promote justice.

In a time of such dire threats to our communities, their leadership is truly a shining example for us all.
