ALRP Recognized as Legacy Business
February 12, 2019
Recognized for its ongoing contributions to the community and its cultural significance in the city, ALRP is one of 160 distinguished businesses to have been named a San Francisco Legacy Business.
The San Francisco Legacy Business Program is an initiative to help preserve the culture and character of the city by celebrating and supporting businesses that have been pillars in the community for 30 or more years. Nominated by Former District 8 Supervisor Jeff Sheehy, ALRP was approved as a Legacy Business by the San Francisco Small Business Commission in 2018.
“ALRP is deeply appreciative of its designation as a Legacy Business,” said ALRP Executive Director Bill Hirsh. “ALRP has been a longstanding business serving the community since 1983. ALRP is proud of its history of serving San Franciscans living with HIV. We are also proud of providing the forum for hundreds of attorneys to volunteer, and each year ALRP’s Panel of attorneys leverages over one million dollars in donated legal services.”
ALRP has handled more than 78,000 legal matters since its founding over 35 years ago. As the oldest legal services organization focused on serving the HIV/AIDS community, ALRP assists people living with HIV in a broad array of civil legal issues related to housing, insurance, employment, immigration, and more.
One of many San Francisco service-oriented organizations to make the cut, ALRP is in good company as a Legacy Business. You can view the full registry on the Legacy Business Program website.
