ALRP Receives Glowing State Bar Report
October 15, 2024
Earlier this year, The State Bar of California conducted an audit to determine if ALRP is in compliance with the American Bar Association’s Standards for the Provision of Civil Legal Aid and the various requirements included in our grant agreements with The State Bar. This lengthy process – conducted every three years – included interviews with both staff and Board members, and extensive reviews of our policies, procedures, and finances.
We recently received The State Bar’s audit report, and it included some glowing findings about the strengths of ALRP. We wanted to share some of those with you:
ALRP displayed strong characteristics of good governance including a diverse, engaged board that supports the mission and vision of the organization.
ALRP displayed sound characteristics of strong executive leadership, including management that maintains a shared sense of vision and mission … [ALRP] demonstrates a commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion; emphasizes excellence and innovation; and ensures appropriate levels of training and professional development so that the staff and governing body have the awareness, attitude, skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to provide assistance in a culturally competent manner.
ALRP demonstrates an understanding of the diverse community and multicultural issues and histories relevant to the client community, is engaged effectively with the population eligible for its services, and partners as appropriate with local government and community based organizations.
We’re gratified to receive this praise from The State Bar and thankful to all our supporters for helping make our work possible!
