This summer ALRP is a proud beneficiary of the 2013 Up Your Alley Street Fair (aka Dore Alley). Please join us on Sunday, July 28 at the Folsom Street Events kick-off street fair!

ALRP is once again a major beneficiary and we need more volunteers than ever! First-time volunteers, Panel attorneys, and street fair stalwarts are welcome to sign up.

By volunteering, you’ll have fun and ensure that ALRP is able to provide low-cost legal services to people living with HIV/AIDS.

GREAT PERKS for volunteers! At the Fair HQ, you will find:

• Free food and beverages all day
• Private restrooms with no lines
• Free coat check (stash a costume or change of clothes)
• Tables, chairs, and shade for relaxing

Volunteer at Up Your Alley

Up Your Alley takes place on Dore Alley between Folsom and Howard Streets from 11:00am-6:00pm on Sunday, July 28. Find out more at folsomstreetfair.org/alley

Volunteer Shifts

Breakdown: An extremely important job! Restore the fairgrounds to a clean and empty street. Break down headquarters, sweep, move tables, and load trucks. May require heavy lifting. Gloves will be provided.
5:30pm – 9:30pm

Recycle: Monitor recycle stations and encourage fair-goers to recycle and compost as much as possible. Gloves will be provided.
11:00am – 3:30pm

Security: Be the eyes and ears of the fair. Radio headquarters to communicate about emergencies, illegal vendors, inappropriate behavior, or shortages. Must have street smarts.
10:30am – 3:00pm
2:00pm – 7:00pm
5:00pm – 9:00pm

Exhibitors: Prepare the exhibitor area and assist exhibitors in locating their spaces. Report exhibitor problems and unauthorized vendors.
6:00am – 11:00am
10:30am – 3:30pm

Set-Up: Help set-up the fair grounds. Unload trucks and lift or push heavy objects. Gloves will be provided.
6:00am – 10:30am

Gates: Work with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to pump $$$ out of fair-goers and hand out stickers. Good job for energetic and vocal volunteers.

12:00pm – 4:00pm

Bay of Pigs Volunteer Shifts

Bay of Pigs is the official UYA Saturday Night Dance Event. It has become a primary focus of the weekend with its inventive brand of cheap and tawdry kicks, hard-core action, and dirty thrills. It is a sexually-charged, gay male-oriented dance party. Bay of Pigs is on Saturday, July 27 from 10pm to 4am. (San Francisco location to be announced).
