The Tens Photography Show & ALRP Benefit
Join us in Supervisor Jane Kim's office for the opening reception of CASH FOR GOLD: Photos by the Tens, the premiere exhibition of ALRP staff attorney Brian Brophy's photographic work. Brian is generously donating 30% of the proceeds to support ALRP's free legal services to people with HIV/AIDS.
The reception will be from 4:30–6:30 p.m. and will include drinks and an opportunity to meet Brian and discuss his work. Framed prints will be available for purchase. The show will run for one month during Supervisor Kim's office hours.
By day, Brian is a staff attorney at ALRP. But he’s also an up-and-coming San Francisco street photographer known as The Tens in his spare time. He blogs his work regularly at The Tens, where you can see some of his extensive portfolio.
Chris Perez, the owner of Ratio 3 Gallery, says, “Brian Brophy’s photographs capture the loneliness and despondency that the city can so easily disguise with its majestic views, romantic architecture, and urban redevelopment.” Brian’s photographic work brings together the injustices he sees as a legal services attorney with the conditions he witnesses on the streets of San Francisco. “He is out there with his camera,” said Perez, “haunting San Francisco as he looks for something that helps him understand why he lives here. And in doing so, perhaps he can offer us a clue as to why we live here too.”
Brian is donating 30% of the show's proceeds in support of the ALRP|30 Years of Justice From The Heart Campaign. Please join us in celebrating Brian's work and the work of ALRP.
