MCLE Training: Immigration Law – Deportation Defense

1.5 General CLE Credits

Overview: This training will begin by offering strategies for conducting a successful client interview in order to determine the real needs of the client facing removal. Participants will learn how to evaluate a case, select the best option for relief from removal, and prepare for trial.  Participants will learn how to close a case without litigation, where appropriate, through voluntary departure, administrative closure, and termination. This training will also discuss the local immigration court system, the appellate process, and the major players.

Who Can Attend? All active ALRP Panel Attorneys and associates at partner pro bono law firms are welcome to attend any of ALRP’s free MCLE trainings. Attorneys who wish to attend but who are not currently members of ALRP are requested to join our Panel and accept two referrals in the next year. Due to space limitations, attorneys who have not yet joined our Panel are requested to attend only one free training per series. After joining the Panel, attorneys can attend as many trainings as they like.
