Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) are invaluable benefit programs providing disabled individuals with stable, life-saving income. However, strict program rules and regulations can create serious complications when facing legal issues in other practice areas, risking reduction, termination, or forced repayment of benefits.
This training will provide an overview of SSI and SSDI program rules and discuss how representation in other legal matters can affect benefits, as well as strategies for minimizing disruptions to folks’ income. This training is geared towards practitioners but may be helpful to anyone supporting SSI or SSDI recipients.
