Public benefit laws have had little change over the past three decades, but the rules and options have changed dramatically for persons with disabilities who are recipients of SSI, Medi-Cal, and HUD. The good news is now there are more choices than ever. The bad news is that many of the old options are not only outdated but, in some circumstances, can be harmful.
This training provides knowledge and expertise needed to guide individuals receiving benefits under these programs through a series of case studies. A major focus will be navigating the different distribution standards for each program as well as a cost / benefit analysis of maintaining benefits. The training will include a step by step process to evaluate the client’s needs as well as resources that can assist the client in evaluating their unique needs.
The State Bar of California has certified ALRP, Provider #2485, to provide MCLE credit for this training.
