- Overview: California has some of the strongest protections in the nation for LGBTQ workers, especially for transgender and gender non-conforming workers. This training will focus on state laws prohibiting sexual orientation and gender identity discrimination in the workplace, healthcare, and public accommodations contexts. We will review relevant provisions of the Fair Employment and Housing Act and other laws, as well as administrative and judicial interpretations of the statutes and their implementing regulations, with a focus on protections for transgender people, including facilities access, name and pronoun use, and privacy considerations.
This is a free training open to all attorneys, paralegals, law students, and those interested in the legal field. We hope to see you there!
