HIV and COVID-19

According to the CDC, people at higher risk of serious illness from COVID-19 include older adults and those with existing health conditions, such as heart disease, lung disease, and diabetes. There are more than 11,200 people over the age of 50 living with HIV in San Francisco. They make up 70% of the city’s HIV population. Coronavirus poses a serious threat to ALRP’s clients, ~70% of whom were over the age of 50 in 2019. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about HIV and COVID-19.
