ALRP Auction Committee – Join Us
The ALRP Auction Committee (AuctionCom) is comprised of ALRP Board members and community members, and helps ALRP plan, coordinate and manage the ALRP silent auction component of the ALRP From the Heart Annual Reception & Auction.
AuctionCom is managed by two volunteer co-chairs and is supported by ALRP staff (mostly Bill Hirsh/Executive Director and Jim McBride/Development Director). The committee is responsible for helping ALRP secure 50-75 silent auction items, and reports to the ALRP Events Committee.
Identify Auction Donor Prospects – identify 3-5 prospective auction donors for inclusion in the ALRP Auction Item Donor Prospect List.
Solicit Auction Prospects – Contact 10-25 auction donor prospects once ALRP staff mails out auction request letters; resend letters and pledge forms as needed.
Deliver Auction Donations to ALRP Office – through your auction item prospect identification and solicitation follow-up efforts, secure 3-5 auction items (minimum value $50) and deliver/arrange for delivery to the ALRP office (1663 Mission Street, Suite 500, SF CA 94103).
Recruit AuctionCom Members – help identify and recruit new members to the ALRP Auction Committee.
Provide Volunteer Support for the Silent Auction – if available, serve as an auction volunteer during the ALRP From the Heart Annual Reception & Auction held in the fall of each year.
Email Check-Ins & Phone Meetings
Updates detailing AuctionCom activity, results and action items are emailed bi-monthly. Phone meetings are held every 1-2 months as needed at the discretion of the co-chairs.
Participation on the AuctionCom requires a commitment of 3-5 hours a month. Some members participate for the full year; others participate for a specific period of time. We simply request that you communicate your level of commitment and availability
to the AuctionCom co-chairs and follow through on those tasks you take on.
If you are interested in joining the ALRP AuctionCom, please contact both co-chairs by email at firstname.lastname@example.org and Rob.email@example.com. For more information, call ALRP Development Director, Jim McBride, at (415) 701-1200 ext. 301 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
