ALRP Events Committee – Join Us
The ALRP Events Committee (EventsCom) is comprised of ALRP Board members and community members, and helps the organization to plan, coordinate and manage ALRP events, with particular emphasis on ALRP’s spring Advocates Council Leadership Benefit and fall From the Heart Annual Reception & Auction, and on community events such as the Academy of Friends (AOF) Gala, the Macy’s Passport Gala, and the Richmond Ermet AIDS Foundation (REAF) Help Is On The Way Gala.
EventsCom is supported by ALRP staff (mostly Bill Hirsh/Executive Director and Jim McBride/Development Director) and is responsible for helping ALRP meet its annual Events fundraising goal.
EventsCom meets monthly (in person and/or by phone) on the 4th Thursday of each month, from 12:00noon to 1:00pm at Perkins Coie LLP:

Participation on the EventsCom is voluntary, and varies by your commitment and availability. Some members participate for the full year, attending all monthly meetings (in person or by phone) and taking on a variety of tasks and sub-committee posts. Others participate for a specific period of time to help with a particular initiative, such as during our spring Advocates Council Leadership Benefit or our fall From the Heart Annual Reception & Auction.
We simply request that you communicate your level of commitment and availability to the EventsCom co-chairs and follow through on those tasks/actions you take on. During your participation, we also request that you attend (in person or by phone) the monthly EventsCom meetings to help facilitate communication to the entire committee.
